The first tulip fields are blooming!

Since April 8, we have kicked off our tulip tours. Departing from Amsterdam, we head to the north of the Netherlands to witness the stunning tulip fields, and we are in luck. Some tulip growers cover their bulbs with plastic, which accelerates their blooming by two weeks. Consequently, these tulip bulbs are further along in their development, allowing for earlier scalding in the greenhouses. It's a delight to see the first tulip fields already vibrant with color.

In recent days, we've been thrilled to visit three fields each day, including a charming scene with an old-fashioned windmill amidst the tulips—a sight beloved by us and tourists alike. We look forward to sharing this quintessential Dutch vista with many more visitors. Currently, as we tour the initial fields without plastic cover, we watch tulip buds burst open, releasing their lovely fragrance and displaying a spectacle of colors.

In our own tulip field, we take the opportunity to educate our guests about tulip bulbs and the entire cultivation process, ensuring everyone understands how the tulip industry operates. A common question we anticipate from tourists in about three weeks is: why do tulip growers cut the flowers instead of selling them? This query often arises as we observe the fields transition back to green and the vibrant colors fade. Stay tuned for our next blog, where we'll delve into this topic further.
